Danone will sell assets worth €500 million. These include the activities in Argentina as well as the “Vega” brand, resulting from the acquisition of WhiteWave. In addition, the Group intends to shift its marketing to regions. Up to now, Danone’s markets have mostly been managed on the basis of product categories. Danone also plans to review its entire portfolio for activities with poor profitability.
In the third quarter Danone lost 2.5% of its turnover. In the course of this year the share lost about a quarter of its value and is currently trading at a level similar to 14 years ago.
Cécile Cabanis, CFO of Danone since 2015, will leave the company at the end of February.
