AB-BIOTICS is set to introduce its B. coagulans Unique IS-2® – a highly stable probiotic strain ideal for integration into food matrices– at Food ingredients Europe (FiE) 2023.  The company will also share the latest research on fermented probiotic juices, highlighting the strain’s ability to support immune health and its other health benefits.

On stand, AB-BIOTICS will spotlight B. coagulans Unique IS-2®, a new clinically tested probiotic strain that aims to raise the bar for stability across food applications – even under a wide range of temperatures and extreme processing conditions. Unlike many others, this probiotic strain boasts high stability and resilience, allowing manufacturers to incorporate it into a wide variety of processed food applications. Backed by over 25 clinical studies, B. coagulans Unique IS-2® has been shown to support digestive health, enhance protein absorption and boost immunity, in line with growing consumer demands for functional foods. Experts will be on-stand to explain the benefits of B. coagulans Unique IS-2® in more detail, including how its natural encapsulation enables a high survivability rate in stomach acid and bile juices, to reach the intestine, where it colonises. Its resistance to a greater range of temperatures – from high boiling to low freezing – means it is a valued addition to varying formats, such as gummies, tablets, dry powders, beverages and finished food products.

For a more in-depth look at probiotics, AB-BIOTICS will also be presenting recent research exploring the ability of the probiotic strain L. Plantarum DR7 to ferment orange, apple and peach juices. Francesca Rizzi, Food Application Specialist at AB-BIOTICS, will discuss the findings from the research, including the strain’s stability in different juices and the production of bioactive compounds due to fermentation.

Visitors to the stand can explore why fruit juices are excellent carriers for the delivery of the probiotic L. plantarum DR7TM, with fermentation resulting in tasty functional beverages enriched with health-promoting compounds. As well as improving the nutritional profile of fermented fruit juices, the strain has been shown to reinforce the intestinal barrier, boost immune system and mitigate fatigue.

AB-BIOTICS will be highlighting its probiotics expertise with a range of delicious samples. Visitors can see B. coagulans Unique IS-2® in action with a functional cookie. A popping candy prototype will also be available to try at the show, to highlight how the functional properties of probiotics can work in unique applications, with appealing flavours and textures.  For more visit Hall 4.0 stand #G64 or ab-biotics.com
