Hein Schumacher to step down as CEO of FrieslandCampina

Royal FrieslandCampina N.V. CEO Hein Schumacher has informed the Supervisory Board of his intention to leave FrieslandCampina, effective 1 May 2023. Schumacher has accepted a new position as CEO of Unilever plc. The Supervisory Board congratulates Hein Schumacher on his new position and has initiated the process for the appointment of a new CEO.

Said Sybren Attema, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Royal FrieslandCampina N.V.: “Hein successfully guided FrieslandCampina through an important transformative period for the company. In often very challenging circumstances, he led the company fully focused on making a sustainable, future-proof FrieslandCampina. It is with regret that we see him leave, and we wish him all the best in his new position.”

Schumacher joined FrieslandCampina in 2014 and assumed the CEO role in 2018 after three years as Chief Financial Officer. He will continue to be active in his role until 30 April 2023.

The Supervisory Board has already initiated an accelerated process to select his successor, to ensure continuity and delivery of business plans for a future-proof FrieslandCampina.
